OUR NEW SITE IS

THE MISSION OF THE

PLEASANTON NORTH ROTARY

FOUNDATION

The Pleasanton North Rotary Foundation has raised and distributed over $2M and is responsible for allocating grants to non-profit, public charities within our community. By participating in the Pleasanton North Rotary Foundation, you affect people's lives in the local community a variety of ways. Our Foundation distributes funds to many local community projects and organizations, including Special Olympics of Northern California, Hope HospiceOpen Heart Kitchen, Shepherd's Gate Women's Shelter, Valley Humane Society, and Pleasanton Partners in Education, and many others, as well as international projects such as delivering over 5,000 wheelchairs around the world through The Wheelchair Foundation.

In addition to cash, our Club partners with other groups and our members work side-by-side with other volunteer organizations such as East Bay Stand Down, Night to Shine, the Taylor Family Foundation and others that share the common goal of improving the lives of others. These voluntary efforts greatly increase the value of the funds we raise and magnify the benefits we give to those less fortunate than ourselves. Feed your soul, contact us today! HOW IS THE PLEASANTON NORTH ROTARY FOUNDATION DIFFERENT FORM THE ROTARY INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION?

The Rotary International Foundation is the endowment fund that transforms gifts and donations into service projects that change lives around the world.

The Rotary International Foundation is a non-profit corporation that supports the efforts of Rotary International to achieve world understanding and peace through international humanitarian, educational, and cultural exchange programs. It is supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world. The Foundation was created in 1917 as an endowment fund for Rotary "to do good in the world." It has grown from an initial contribution of US$26.50 to more than US$1billion. It has one of the largest and most prestigious international fellowship programs in the world.

One of its most public international campaigns has been the worldwide Polio Plus campaign. Rotarians have mobilized by the hundreds of thousands to ensure that children are immunized against this crippling disease and that surveillance is strong despite the poor infrastructure, extreme poverty and civil strife of many countries.

Since the PolioPlus program’s inception in 1985 more than two billion children have received oral polio vaccine. Rotary has committed more than US$850 million to global polio eradication and  received $355 million in challenge grants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
